Event Details

Join Historic Columbia Foundation for a two-part gardening symposium. Friday 8 am - 6 pm and Saturday 10 - 11:30 am. 

Friday will consist of a variety of presentations and conclude with a reception. Saturday guests will enjoy a walking tour of Columbia's historic Heathwood neighborhood, visiting several resident's private gardens in this district.

Friday Speakers: 

  • Andy Cabe, director of Riverbanks Zoo Botanical Gardens
  • Eric McClam, co-founder and farm manager of City Roots Urban Farm
  • Betsy Kaemmerlen, LEEP-AP and landscape architect
  • Dr. Jeffery Adelberg, Clemson University
  • HCF staff members, John Sherrer and David Simpson
  • Keynote Speaker: Bill Alexander, landscape and forest historian from The Biltmore Estate
